vivian maier

vivian maier was a chicago photographer who worked from the 50s to the 90s. her subject was the "street" and her work is fascinating. she was "discovered" when her negatives (thousands upon thousands) were bought from an antiques dealer and then shared with the world, beginning with the blog below. she is getting a lot of press and rightfully so.
